Holden to Review Single-Payer Health Care

Democratic Congressman Tim Holden (PA-17th) visited Kutztown on Wednesday, August 29, 2007, for a discussion of issues with members of the Kutztown Area Democratic Club. While the conversation was contentious and heated regarding the Iraq War and Impeachment, the tone was less agitated concerning the topic of health care.

Several club members insisted that Holden support HR676, Expanded and Enhanced Medicare for All, a single-payer, universal, comprehensive public health insurance plan. Although the congressman did not promise to support HR676, neither did he dismiss the possibility. He agreed to look into it.

We hope Congressman Holden will give HR676 serious consideration and eventually offer it his full support.
