If I Am Cut Do I Not Bleed?
On John Morgan
Excerpt from John Morgan s blog:
“It has been reported to me that Tom Herman suspended me as a Democratic Committeeman at today s meeting. He seems to have done this under some as yet unexplained authority. What right he has to do so to an elected official will be challenged in court. I intend now to sue both him and the Berks County Democratic Committee. All he s done is keep giving me more and more grounds to do so, and I see no other recourse to stop him from his obsession with destroying me.Tom, the first rule when you find yourself in a hole is to stop digging. Grabbing the controls to a front end loader when you re already knee deep is just stupid. Was Tom Caltagirone suspended for giving $500 to Tom Corbett? Was Anne Perrige suspended for giving to several Republicans? No. If the standard for unilaterally suspending Democrats is because they said something critical about one there won t be any of us left quite soon. Or is this really only directed at me? If you re a Democratic Committeeperson how do you feel now that your Chair is getting you sued? What are you prepared to do about it? Did anyone initiate an immediate call to impeach the Chair after he made this announcement? I thought not. That was your out.”
“If I am cut, do I not bleed?” Have any of you been looking at the behavior of the so-called Democrats in the congress? Are you pissed? Well so am I. The nearest comparison historically, has to be the capitulation government of France in WWII (VICHY - Wikipedia). If there is to be any hope of changing the Dems at the national level we must deal with the low level collaborators (VICHY) we have in Berks. This unbelievable phenomenon begins at the local level and has to be changed beginning this November, on election day. The kind of treatment John Morgan receives at the hands of “neo- democrats” needs correction now! Dissent is good and is always the beginning of a constructive dialog. It is not censorship simply because some take exception. It is a place to make your case for your opinion. It is not a place for Repug-right spin-talk.
If only one of us is cut, we all bleed! Locally and nationally “We The People” are under attack. Think of it, if you are not happy on the national level you need to change these people at the local level and now… “Now is the time for all good citizens to come to the aid of their country.” Do you think John is being confined to a de facto prison or, invisible “FREE SPEECH ZONE”? .(Remember when President “Shrub” came to our fair town at KU, before we knew how bad things were going to get). Are we all not bleeding (offended) when the Constitution is attacked in this manner by those who have to come to us for votes, but all the while shill for corporate interests?
As Sir Winston Churchill stated:
“The power of the Executive to cast a man into prison without formulating a charge known to law, and particularly to deny him the judgment of his peers is the foundation of all totalitarian government whether Nazi or Communist.”
Free speech zones have been used at a variety of political gatherings. The stated purpose of free speech zones is to protect the safety of those attending the political gathering, or for the safety of the protesters themselves. Did I hear you say… Orwellian? (Orwellian - Wikipedia) Critics suggest that such zones are Orwellian and that authorities use them in a heavy-handed manner to censor protesters by putting them literally out of sight of the mass media, hence the public, as well as visiting dignitaries. Though authorities generally deny specifically targeting protesters, on a number of occasions these denials have been contradicted by subsequent court testimony.
The weight of responsibility to preserve this Democracy is upon this generation of Americans.
“I hope we shall crush in its birth the aristocracy of our monied corporations which dare already to challenge our government to a trial by strength, and bid defiance to the laws of our country.” - Thomas Jefferson
We can not allow this Liberal Democratic Republic to slide back to a time prior to 1776. Forever blurring the distinction between the Citizens power, Corporate greed and Religous over-reach.

With freedom comes responsibility. Mr. Morgan has no interest in improving the democratic committee… he only wants to dismantle it so he and his pals can have control. Unfortunately for him though, most in the committee have seen him for what he is, and do not support his participation in the committee.
A political rally is an open forum where all voices should be allowed. A democratic committee meeting however, is not the same thing. We wouldn’t allow a group of republicans to attend and disrupt our meetings because the purpose of the committee is to discuss and decide strategies to get democrats in control and keep them in control. Mr. Morgan however, uses these meetings as a forum to try and advance a personal agenda of criticizing the committee and it’s leadership. In addition, he uses his blog to smear members of the committee leadership, and democratic candidates. I have not seen a single instance of where Mr. Morgan actually improved the committee. Through his actions, Mr. Morgan has shown himself to be a petulant, childish member who cannot accept decisions which oppose his wishes. If Mr. Morgan cannot at some point relent and move on, he then becomes an obstacle to the progress of the committee, and as such, should be removed (and he was).
It’s fine to express opposing views and argue your case, but if in the end, you lose your battle, you must accept the fact that you have lost and move forward. Continuing to obstruct the functioning of the committee will not change the results and is counter productive.
I fully support the suspension of Mr. Morgan, and in no way see it as a restriction of his “free speech”. Mr. Morgan is, was, and will continue to be free to say what he wants, he just won’t be able to do it at Democratic Committee meetings. I encourgage Mr. Morgan to start his own political group… if he has good ideas, he will succeed, and vice versa. But I suspect that (like our current president), Mr. Morgan will be unable to accept that he has no significant support, and will never admit that he is wrong.

Your response is repleat with charges, aligaions, inuendo, assertions and admonition vacant of substance. Your charges might be entertained rationally, if you were making a salient point or arguing a case so that we all might join in debate. Me thinks you protest too much . Therefore, afoot may be a mission to detract, or a tactic designed to smear rather than illuminate, educate or contribute to meaningful dialogue? (More Repug than Dem). Who beside you, and this so called, Democratic committee , resents being questioned? You use words like, disruption , counter productive to what? Who s ajenda? I wonder.

Here is some substance, Bob!
Mr. Morgan has repeatedly made personal allegations against myself, devoid of any proof (he can’t prove his lies are true!) and here are a few of the specifics.
He has claimed that I sold out to Tom Caltagirone in exchange for a state job or to be handed over the 127th legislative seat once Tom Caltagirone retires!
This is a complete lie.
I never sold out, Caltagirone altered his positions on Single-Payer Health Insurance and reform of the state’s legislative process early in 2006 and I have supported Caltagirone ever since. Makes sense too if you understand that these were the signature issues I ran on against Tom in 2004 and was preparing to repeat in 2006.
If anything, Caltagirone “sold out” to We the People or at least to me!
Tom Caltagirone repeated this act against the Establishment (which I have always and continue to oppose!) when he refused to support that crook, Bill DeWeese for House Speaker.
DeWeese could have stepped aside and allowed Keith McCall to be House Speaker, but old Bill said “hell no! If I can’t be the Speaker in a Democratic majority, I will force a Republican to be Speaker.”
OK, I have no proof that DeWeese said these very words… at least PUBLICLY, but he did say them privately and his actions prove his intent.
DeWeese nominated Dennis O’Brien to be Speaker… a Republican!
The Republicans nominated John Perzel.
Every Democrat who was nominated was forced to withdraw or face the wrath of DeWeese and his dogs in the General Assembly.
You want to punish Tom Caltagirone for choosing We the People over the corrupt Bill DeWeese, so be it, but be prepared for all the public ridicule you will be inviting for betraying We the People!~
