The Left vs. Obama – Who’s Right?

It’s hard to determine who’s more detrimental to the Obama Administration- The loons on the left or the loons on the right.

If I read another ignorant rant alleging something like: Obama just doesn’t get it? Why is he being so nice to the Republicans? – I’m going to puke.  People who I would ordinarily respect are sending offshoots of this theme out  left and right.  What do these people think?  Do they really think that Barack Obama is so dumb that he thinks someone like Mitch McConnell will decide to become a Democrat just because the President is talking nice to him?  These people are so full of inside game that they have no clue what Barack is trying to accomplish.

Barack doesn’t give a damn about the argument with the Republicans.  What he cares about are the people who are viewing the standoff–The Public.  I know Democrats, the public is the last place your instincts tell you to go, but for Barack it’s the first place. Thank God.  The public sees Barack being reasonable and the Republicans saying No! No! No!.  Check the polls, bozos.  Barack knows exactly what he’s doing here and the public will remain on his side as long as he treats everyone with respect and dignity no matter how much they criticize him or disagree with him.  He promised a new politics in the campaign and that’s what he’s delivering.  So who’s the one who doesn’t get it?

Blast  away, guys!

Dear Editor,

I agree, but even more so – it seems to me we are at a very crucial time, not only in the development and growth of our nation, but worldwide. And one thing the that does not seem to be developing is reactionary criticism – from the left & right. It’s so easy to lay blame, and spit out negative commentary – a bad habit in this country. After all, we’ve been trained to do so. Rip on the Prez or Gov. instead of actually doing something about it ourselves.

On top of that, in general, for the most part negative criticism is pretty useless when along with it no alternative solution is submitted. And here’s Obama, exploring who really knows how many alternative solutions, and doing his best to choose what he believes will be the most effective. Not easy descisions. I wonder how well the critics would fair – as if they would not be slammed to the wall if they were making all the descicions (AS IF…)

And for those critics on the left, I can not help but wonder about a correlation between those who jump to negative criticism and their readiness to accept wild conspiracy theories…

Of course there are loons on the left, most of them paid political operatives for Obama, to mask the legitimate concerns the real left is making about Obama.

Example: Why are the same people who created the economic problems, put in charge of cleaning it up?

Example: Why are the same people who created the economic problems, being bailout instead of being punished for what they did?

Example: How can capitalism and free markets work if companies are too big to fail and purposefully making obscene risks that they know the taxpayers will be forced to cover if they fail… but the perpetrators get to keep their cut?

Negative criticism is in no way a bad thing, unless it is the silliness you described above, but to frame your argument as you had… well, let’s just say you are feeding ammunition to the little trolls who run cover for an obviously corrupted administration. Yeah, less corrupted then the Bush Administration, but still far from a true change!

Here is a another example:

President Obama just conducted an on-line town hall meeting, taking questions from people who posted them to the White House web site.

One of the questions was about how are we going to get back the jobs that have been outsourced overseas.

President Obama gave us the same Republican LIE that George W. Bush and Bill Clinton used all the time. That these jobs are low wage, low skill jobs that Americans can not compete anymore. Then the President expanded upon that by saying we will create new “Green” jobs like manufacturing solar panels and wind turbines.

Well, first off, there have been over 3 million engineering jobs lost since 2000. These are not low wage, low skill jobs, in fact that are careers that pay a family sustaining wage and require years of additional schooling to prepare for.

I was one of 18,500+ Berks County residents who lost their high wage, high skill job in 2000-2001 when Lucent Technologies moved to the Peoples’ Republic of (Red) China.

How is President Obama going to prevent these new “Green” jobs from moving to China after we spend all our taxpayer funds developing these products, which is what Lucent did after we developed the Integrated Laser Modules that are the engines that power the Internet all across the planet?

The White House conveniently ignored this pertinent follow-up question when I submitted it moments after his NON-ANSWER to the originally posed question!

Then again, surely there are those who are calling this just more negative criticism rather then a tough, but important question that needs to be addressed.

Despite Obama’s Vow, Combat Brigades Will Stay in Iraq

http://www.democracynow.org/2009/3/26/report_despite_obamas_vow_combat_brigades

Nearly four weeks ago, President Obama declared that US combat operations would end in Iraq by August 2010. Despite Obama’s pledge, new evidence has emerged that the US plans to keep combat brigades in Iraq, but they will operate under a different name. Investigative reporter Gareth Porter of Inter Press Service reveals some of the brigade combat teams currently in Iraq will stay beyond August 2010 and will be renamed so-called “advisory and assistance brigades.”

Oh, I forgot… Amy Goodman is just another wild conspiracy theorist, right!

Need a viable solution?

Bring all the soldiers home immediately, and don’t try and feed me that bunk the corporate media keeps heaping upon the ignorant… we can pull out rather quickly in an orderly fashion. For Christ’s sake, ever hear of the Miracle of Dunkirk?

The entire British, French, Dutch, Belgian (Allied) Armies were evacuated in less than 48 hours… MILLIONS of men, all while under attack from the Nazi forces that had just defeated them in Western Europe (1940). Surely, with all our technological advances since then, we can evacuate the relatively tiny force we have in Iraq and Afghanistan today in short order. Unfortunately, President Obama has other plans and HE IS LYING to us by claiming he is bringing the combat troops home from Iraq before the next election in 2010. Those combat troops are just going to be called something else!

I agree with Stephan that Obama Admin is looking more and more like Bush II, by acceeding to Israeli Lobby neocon demands for permanent US forces on US bases in Iraq between Israel and Iran, and by redoubling Bush’s inflationary fiat spending for the wars (also undeclared), boosting bailouts for Wall Street failed “banks” now dependent on Fed fiat money plus low interest rates, and by cowering to Fed policy to issue more cheap credit (state usury caps were nullified by the Supreme Court in the early seventies)to prolong hyping a consumer credit card industry with bonanza bonus profits from imports for the past forty years.

Anybody who thinks OBAMADMIN can borrow its way or issue Fed fiat freebee dollars its way out of our national debt, generate higher living standards based on more debt, while avoiding self-defeating severe inflation is sadly mistaken.

Hyperinflation will hurt the poor but not the wealthy skimmers at the corporate and government top of the pyramid before prices prices shoot up as fiat paper trickles down and disperses among the poor. Fiat paper inflation is theft of buying power and market distortion, the government’s form of legalized counterfeiting when it can no longer squeeze the taxes it wants and needs to reward and empower its political friends at the expense everyone else, the “outs.”

We need to invest and retrain the U.S. work force, modernize our factories to reverse the balance of payments deficit to pay off our national debts (and meanwhile pay off state and local and corporate and private debt)by export of quality, competitive product surpluses of everything.

But that kind of CHANGE takes savings, a lot of work, good technological creativity, a lot of planning and technological innovation, and all this takes time, time. As tightly knit as the Dem-Repub Party is, such change will take may disciplined years, and probably presupposes political upheaval. Hyperinflation, on the other hand, can strike in a few weeks and cripple an entire economy and set off civil chaos and war. Weimar inflation gave us the Nazi Party.

Yes, the “liberal agenda” of OBAMADMIN is what we all need: health care high quality available to all, non interventionist peace oriented foreign policy, domestic security, quality education for all,
food, clothing, shelter, religious freedom, equal treatment and pay without discrimination, energy independence programs, and restoring the earth’s environment to health. Although the Democrat Party
co-opts and touts these values as “liberal,” actually, they are what most peoples in the world want regardless of nation, culture, race, religion, or ethnicity, or political affiliation. Nearly EVERYBODY wants them. Did the Democrats seriously try to stop the emasculation of labor unions since Reagan?

Basically, the Democrats and Republicans since the Viet Nam/Southeast Asia massacre have acted as one easily re-electable “party,” with left and right rhetorical wings, preventing any other parties from gaining power nationally or on the state level, and above all squashing any significant policy CHANGE. In spite of their well meaning intentions, the Obama Administration looks like more of the same.

The “change” hyped in the Campaign looks like it will further empower the wealthy who have looted the American economy, gutted the American working middle class, and thrown the frustrated umemployed and underemployed poor into prisons leaving families fatherless.
